Air India Express to launch new Mangaluru-Singapore route

Air India Express – the budget arm of Air India – will launch a new direct service from Mangaluru and Singapore.


Announced by the Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Air India Express, the Indian budget carrier will launch its twice-weekly service (Tuesday/Friday) on the Mangaluru-Singapore route on January 21, 2025.


The new service to the port city in Karnataka, India will add to the airline's current services to three cities in India – Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli. Air India Express flights departs and arrives at Changi Airport Terminal 2.


From Mangaluru, Singapore will be the city's first international air link in Southeast Asia.


“We are delighted to introduce direct flights between Singapore and Mangaluru, a key industrial and cultural centre in Karnataka,” said Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India Express. “This new route underscores our commitment to enhancing connectivity between Singapore and South India, a region with deep cultural ties to Singapore.”


With the addition of Mangaluru, travelers from Singapore are offered flights to 18 cities in India.


“As the second link with the state of Karnataka, this new route strengthens Changi’s growing connectivity into India, bringing the total connected city links to 18,” said Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President, Air Hub & Cargo Development, CAG.
