In a post on X, the Gurugram,India-based airline announced it will operate its A350-90 aircraft on its route between Delhi and New York-JFK starting November 1. The A350-900 will also be introduced on the Delhi-Newark route from January 2, 2025.
Featuring 336 seats in a three-class configuration – Business, Premium Economy, Economy – the airline will introduce Premium Economy seats and lie-flat beds in Business class on the two routes.
“We are encouraged by the positive guest feedback we have received from the domestic deployment of our A350s to offer our hero product on the Delhi-New York JFK and Delhi-Newark routes. This is a significant leap forward for our U.S. operations that also underscores our commitment to continuous improvement,” said Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Air India.
The two New York City-area hubs will be the third and fourth international destinations where Air India will deploy it A350. The airline currently operates flights with the widebody aircraft to Dubai and London-Heathrow, and domestic flights between Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
