Air India will expand its network in Southeast Asia with new direct flights between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur - the capital city of Malaysia.

From September 15, the Indian flag carrier will launch the new Delhi-Kuala Lumpur service with daily flights with two-class Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The outbound flight – AI384 – will depart Delhi at 1300H and arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 2100H. The return flight – AI385 – will depart Kuala Lumpur at 0830H and arrive back at Delhi at 1125H.

According to Air India, the new services to Kuala Lumpur will serve the growing demand for travel between India and Malaysia. It will also enable one-stop connections via Delhi for travelers from the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe.

“We are happy to support the fast-growing tourism and trade corridor between India and Malaysia with this new daily service,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Air India.“Leveraging our robust global network, this route will not only serve travelers flying between the two nations, but also offer convenient one-stop connections for travelers from Europe and North America seeking to explore the wonders of Malaysia.”

The new route will add to Air India's destinations in Southeast Asia where it currently operates flights to Bangkok, Phuket, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Yangon.

Between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur, Air India will be the sole Indian-based carrier operating flights to Kuala Lumpur. The route is currently served by three Malaysia-based carriers – AirAsia X, Batik Air, and Malaysia Airlines.
