As Air Premia welcomed its sixth Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the South Korean hybrid carrier revealed plans to add three more aircraft and new routes in 2025.
The new Boeing 787-9 – registration HL8701 – is the first new aircraft to be delivered to Air Premia in over 18 months. The last 787 was delivered to the airline in September 2022.
According to Air Premia, the newly delivered aircraft is undergoing final inspections and interior adjustments ahead of its planned entry into commercial operations in January 2025. The aircraft will be used on long-haul routes to North America.
Air Premia currently operates flights to five destinations – Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo-Narita, and Bangkok. The airline plans to launch flights to four destinations in 2025 – Da Nang and Hong Kong in early 2025 followed by Honolulu and Seattle later in the year.
“Fleet expansion is crucial for growth in the aviation industry,” said Seung-shin Park, Air Premia's head of public relations said. “We are developing a balanced route portfolio to enhance both customer convenience and profitability.”
With the additional three aircraft expected in 2025, Air Premia expects to have nine 787-9s by the end of the year.
