AirAsia  has announced it will launch a new route to India with the introduction of direct flights to Lucknow from Malaysia.


From September 13, the Malaysia-based budget carrier will launch its new Kuala Lumpur-Lucknow route with three weekly flights – operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.


According to AirAsia, the outbound flight from Kuala Lumpur – operating as AK15 will depart and arrive in Lucknow in the evening. The return flight – AK14 – will depart Lucknow the same evening, but arrive back in Kuala Lumpur the following morning.


The new route to Lucknow will be AirAsia's 16th direct route to India, this time as the airline offers a new route to the capital city to the Indian province of Uttar Pradesh.


From Lucknow, the AirAsia Group will now offer flights to two hubs. Thai AirAsia currently operates flights from Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport to Lucknow.
