AirAsia is continuing its expansion of services between Malaysia and China with two new routes connecting Penang and Shenzhen, and Kota Kinabalu and Shantou.
AirAsia is continuing its expansion of services between Malaysia and China with two new routes connecting Penang and Shenzhen, and Kota Kinabalu and Shantou.
The Malaysia-based budget airline announced the first of the two routes – between Penang and Shenzhen – will start on October 28 with four weekly flights. The outbound flights from Penang will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The return flights will depart Shenzhen the following day (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Then on November 16, AirAsia will launch the Kota Kinabalu-Shantou route with three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).
The new routes to Shenzhen and Shantou in China's Guandong Province will add to AirAsia's network to mainland China from Malaysia. AirAsia currently offers 33 routes between the two countries.
From Penang, AirAsia currently operates flights to the Hong Kong SAR. The airline currently operates flights on eight routes to China from Kota Kinabalu - Beijing-Daxing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Shanghai-Pudong, Shenzhen, Wuhan. AirAsia will also launch a new route from Kota Kinabalu to Kunming on September 25.
