AirAsia's has launched its new, Cambodia-based airline venture – AirAsia Cambodia.
Following the handover of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), AirAsia Cambodia – flight code KT – will start operations on Tuesday, May 2. With a fleet of two Airbus A320s, the new airline will operate from its hub at Phnom Penh International Airport with flights to Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.
According to AirAsia, the new airline will announce its international destinations during the next quarter following “a careful assessment of demand and market dynamics.”

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Secretariat of State Civil Aviation (SSCA) of Cambodia for awarding the Air Operator's Certificate to AirAsia,” said Tony Fernandes, CEO, Capital A.
Fernandes added: “The wealth of opportunities present in Cambodia, a country with huge economic potential is truly compelling given its strategic location within the Asean region. Cambodia's economic growth trajectory and increasing integration into the global economy position it as a key player in the region's development landscape.”
In addition, travelers can connect onwards to AirAsia's group network from Cambodia on seven routes to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

First announced in December 2022, AirAsia Cambodia is a joint venture between Cambodia-based Sivilai Asia and AirAsia's parent company Capital A. The airline is the seventh AirAsia brand carrier in the region, joining its Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Philippine based counterparts.
