A group comprising of some of the world's major airports have launched a new program for startup companies working on technology to enhance airport experiences.
Airports for Innovation (A4I) announced the program calling for startups founded between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2022 with technologies that “can add value to the network (of airports) in any of the four challenges proposed.” A4I identified the challenges: Seamless Travel Experience, Sustainable Aviation, Smart Luggage Revolution, and AI-Powered Airports.
According to A4I, selected startups will have the opportunity to develop a pilot test of their solution in a real airport environment at two of the group's airports.
Founded in 2021, A4I was launched by airport operators Aena (Spain) and Aeroporti di Roma (Italy). Since its launch, the network now has 10 member airports including Athens International Airport, Nice Côte d'Azur, Dallas-Fort Worth, Vancouver, Flughafen München
(Munich Airport), Dubai International Airport (DXB), Oman Airports, and Narita Airport.
Interested startup companies are advised to submit their proposals through the official A4I website (www.airportsforinnovation.com).
