Akasa Air will launch flights to its second international destination – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The India-based budget carrier announced it will operate two new routes between India and Jeddah. The first of the two routes – a daily service between Mumbai and Jeddah – will start on July 15. Services will then be increased to 12 weekly flights from July 21.
Ahead of the launch of the Mumbai-Jeddah route, Akasa Air added it will operate special flights between the two cities in June during the peak travel season.
The second route – a two-times weekly service between Ahmedabad and Jeddah – will be launched on July 20.
“We are thrilled to expand our presence in the Middle East with the addition of Jeddah to our growing network,” said Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International, Akasa Air. “We are extremely proud to witness our global footprint grow alongside our domestic services, with the addition of our second global destination within a short time.”

Akasa Air's network will now cover 24 destinations including two international points – Doha and Jeddah. The airline previously launched flights to Doha from March 28.
According to the airline, it has been granted flight rights to two other international destinations – Kuwait and Riyadh – and will be rapidly expanding its global presence in the coming months.
