Asiana Airlines will reduce its flights to Rome, Frankfurt, and Paris this spring.
In line with the European Commision's (EC) fair competition requirements following its merger with Korean Air, Asiana will reduce its flights between Seoul Incheon and Rome from five-times weekly to four weekly from April 25; its Incheon-Frankfurt flights from seven to four from April 30; and Incheon-Paris from six to five weekly on May 12.
Under the merged airlines' agreement with the EC, South Korean budget airline T'Way has taken over the cancelled routes.
According to Asiana, the airline will provide separate notifications to customers on the affected flights to advise them on revised schedules and rebooking/refund options, and will post related notices on its official website.
In addition to giving up flight slots on four routes to Europe to T'Way, Korean Air also sold Asiana's cargo business to Air Incheon.
