Summary

Ahead of its return to Bangkok, British Airways has announced an expanded codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways.

Ahead of its return to Bangkok, British Airways has announced an expanded codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways.

The expanded codeshare partnership between both carriers will expand travel options between the United Kingdom (UK) and Thailand with the addition of five more destinations – Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai in Thailand, and Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

British Airways customers will be able to connect to the five destinations via Bangkok, and will be able to incorporate a stopover in the Thai capital before continuing on to their final destination on the same ticket. Members of British Airways' frequent flyer program – the Executive Club – will also be able to enjoy benefits such as the earning of Avios and Tier Points, lounge access, and seat selection.

Both carriers' existing codesahre partnership covers flights between Singapore and Koh Samui for British Airways customers.

The announcement comes ahead of British Airways' return of its London Gatwick-Bangkok route with three weekly flights starting October 28. The flights will be further increased up to five times weekly between January and March 2025.

“In October, we will be operating our first direct flight to Thailand in more than four years, so it’s a highly anticipated return to our global network,” said Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning and Strategy Officer. “Knowing that this route will be particularly popular with our leisure customers, we're pleased to be working with Bangkok Airways to offer more choice and make these sought-after holiday destinations more accessible.”

“We are pleased to expand this codeshare partnership with British Airways to strengthen our respective route networks and offer business and leisure travellers with unprecedented and convenient access to new gateways,” added Culin Kocharoen, Vice President – Network and Product Development, Bangkok Airways.
