As British Airways returned to Bangkok, the UK-based carrier confirmed it will make its return to Kuala Lumpur next April.

From April 1, 2025, British Airways plans to operate flights between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur. Previously planned to start in November, the airline will operate daily flights on the route.

Return to Bangkok

Following a four-year absence, British Airways made its return to Bangkok with the first flight – operating between London Gatwick and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi – on October 28.

Last flown in 2020, the Gatwick-Suvarnbhumi flights will operate three times weekly before increasing up to five times weekly in January and February 2025. Services will then be set to four times weekly from March 2025.

Between Gatwick and Suvarnabhumi, British Airways will offer three cabin classes on the flights – World Traveller (Economy), World Traveler Plus (Premium economy), and Club World (Business). Through its codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, customers can connect from Bangkok to five destinations – Koh Samui, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, as well as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

"We know that Bangkok has been a highly anticipated route restart for our customers, so we are thrilled to see it firmly back on our global route map,” said Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, British Airways.“Not only does Bangkok itself have so much to offer our leisure customers, but it is a gateway to some of the most beautiful parts of Southeast Asia and we are proud to make these more accessible to the UK market.”
