Cathay Pacific is expanding its network in China with a new route to Ningbo.


From August 1, the Hong Kong-based carrier will laucnh its new route between Hong Kong and Ningbo in the northeast Chinese province of Zhejiang. With four weekly flights, the airline will use two-class Airbus A321neo aircraft on the route.


From Hong Kong, the outbound flight – CX956 – will depart every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 1100H before arriving at Ningbo at 1320H. The return flight – CX955 – will depart Ningbo at 1430H and arrive back at Hong Kong at 1650H.


“This new service will provide greater connectivity for our customers travelling between the two cities, while also enabling our customers in the Chinese Mainland to connect to the world through the Hong Kong hub,” the Cathay Group said in a statement.


Including its budget subsidiary HK Express, the Cathay Group offers up to 226 weekly return flights to 19 destinations in mainland China.


The new Ningbo service by Cathay Pacific will add to HK Express' daily flights to the city.
