The Shanghai-based carrier announced it will launch its first route to Venice with a new three-times weekly (Monday, Thursday, Saturday) service to Venice's Marco Polo Airport from Shanghai Pudong Airport starting September 26.
On the same day, China Eastern will boost its services to Milan with a new route connecting the city in northern Italy with Xi'an. The new Xi'an-Milan Malpensa route will be launched also with three weekly flights (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday).
China Eastern will use Airbus A330 aircraft on both routes.
Air China and Hainan Airlines currently operates flights from China to Milan, while China Eastern will be the lone airline to offer flights from China to Venice.
