In a stock exchange filing, the Taipei, Taiwan-based airline reported on the deal worth around USD $2 billion with each aircraft priced at no more than USD $488 million each. No details were reported on a delivery timeline or engine selection.

According to planespotters.net, EVA Air has around 80 aircraft in its fleet. Included on its fleet are around 15 787 Dreamliners – 11 787-10s and 4 787-9s. Two more 787-10s from a previous order have yet to be delivered. The airline also has another 5 787-9s on order.

The additional orders are part of EVA Air's fleet plans. In January, the Taiwanese carrier firmed orders for 31 Airbus jets – 18 widebody A350-1000s and 14 narrowbody A321neos – which will replace its Boeing 777-300ER and A321ceos.
