Emirates SkyCargo orders five more Boeing 777 Freighters

Emirates cargo division – Emirates SkyCargo – has announced an order for an additional five Boeing 777 Freighters (777F).


According to Emirates, the Dubai-based carrier announced the five 777F will be delivered between 2025 and 2026 to meet growing air  cargo demand.  Emirates SkyCargo's available main deck cargo capacity will increase by 30%, and its fleet of dedicated freighter aircraft will grow to 17 – including 777 freighters, 777 converted freighters, and 747 freighters.


Worth around USD $1 billion, the new aircraft 777F order will bring Emirates' order book of Boeing aircraft to 245 widebody jets – including 10 777F.

This investment in additional Boeing 777 capacity enables us to cater to customer demand and marks a step forward on our long-term strategic growth plan,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group. 

Sheikh Ahmed added: “The next phase of our strategy will include a full assessment for our future freighter fleet reviewing all aircraft options to ensure we are best equipped to respond to the evolving demands of the market and reaffirming our confidence in the role of airfreight and, more specifically, Emirates SkyCargo, in global trade.

Emirates further added with the staggered delivery of its new aircraft, Emirates SkyCargo will retire its older freighters. The airline is also in the process of converting 10 777-300ERs to freighter aircraft.
