Following the handover of the A350-900 from Airbus to Emirates, the aircraft - registration A6-EXA – completed its delivery flight from Airbus' facility at Toulouse to Dubai on November 25.
The delivery of the A350 is the first new aircraft type to join the Emirates fleet since 2008.
As Emirates welcomed the new aircraft, the airline has announced it moved up the schedule of the first scheduled flight of its A350 to/from Edinburgh on January 3, 2025. The outbound flight (Dubai-Edinburgh) will operate as EK23 departing at 1450H and arrive at 1905H. The return flight – EK24 – will depart Edinburgh at 2040H and arrive in Dubai at 0805H the following day.
After Edinburgh, the airline will operate daily flights using the new aircraft on the route, before rolling it out to 8 other destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat, and Bologna.
