Etihad has opened a new lounge for customers bound for the United States (US) after the completion of their US entry formalities at Abu Dhabi's airport.
On December 30, the new Etihad US Preclearance Lounge at Zayed International Airport was opened. Located steps away from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility, eligible guests can access the lounge after completing the preclearance formalities and before boarding their flights.
The US CBP Preclearance facility allows travelers departing at select airports worldwide the ability to complete US entry requirements – including customs and immigration formalities – before departure. Upon arrival in the US, guests arrive as domestic passengers and simply can collect their baggage, and proceed to their connecting flights.
Eligible guests include those traveling on Etihad's US-bound flights in The Residence, First or Business classes, as well as Platinum and Emerald Etihad Guest members. Access is also available for purchase.
The new lounge is Etihad's third at Zayed International Airport. Eligible customers can also access the First and Business Class Lounge in the main terminal before proceeding to the preclearance facility.
Etihad currently operates flights to four US destinations – Boston, Chicago, New York-JFK, and Washington DC. The airline will also add Atlanta as its fifth US destination in July 2025.
