oneworld has announced Fiji Airways will become the newest full member carrier of the airline alliance.
Announced during the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS) meeting in Dubai, Fiji Airways – currently a oneworld connect partner – will transition to become the 15thmember of the airline alliance. According to oneworld, the transition to full membership is expected to be completed within the next 12 months. Fiji Airways' subsidiary Fiji Link will become an affiliate airline of oneworld.
As a full oneworld member airline, Fiji Airways will provide oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby customers benefits such as earning and redeeming miles, status points, priority check-in, boarding and lounge access. Fiji Airways' top tier customers will gain access to oneworld priority benefits including access to nearly 700 business and First class lounges globally

Since its launch in 1951, Fiji Airways operates flights to 26 destinations in 15 countries from its hub at Nadi International Airport. The airline operates a fleet of 21 aircraft including Airbus A350s and A330s along with Boeing 737s. Among the airline's destinations include oneworld hubs at Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
Fiji Airways will be the fourth airline to join oneworld within the last four years. Royal Air Maroc became the first African member carrier of oneworld in 2020. Alaska Airlines then joined the alliance the following year. Later this year, Muscat-based Oman Air will become the 14thmember airline of oneworld.
