Doha Hamad International Airport has announced the opening of its new Concourse E.


As part of its latest terminal expansion program, the new 51,000 square meter concourse – with eight (8) aircraft parking stands and gates – will provide an additional 20% contact gates at the airport that will help reduce the need for remote gates & buses for boarding aircraft.


According to Hamad International Airport, the design of Concourse E is Accessibility-Focused and with Sustainable Infrastructure. Among the features include cutting-edge-energy systems, innovative water management solutions, and optimized thermal comfort. Passengers at Concourse E will be able to use advanced self-boarding technology, ergonomic seating, and expanded retail and dining options.


The concourse has three levels – for arrivals, departures, and office space.


In a statement regarding the opening of the concourse, Hamad International Airport's Chief Operating Officer Hamad Ali Al-Khater said: “We are thrilled to see this modern concourse come to life, providing our passengers with a more seamless and comfortable travel experience. This expansion reflects our commitment to delivering world-class facilities that emphasize efficiency, accessibility and sustainability.


Al-Khater added: “With the launch of Concourse E, travelers can experience the first phase of a transformative expansion aimed at elevating every aspect of their journey. This marks only the beginning, with further developments planned to enhance connectivity, capacity, and the overall experience at Hamad International Airport,”


In addition to Concourse E, work will be done for the expansion of Concourse D. The airport said further development of Concourse D will be announced in a few weeks.
