Hong Kong Airlines recently completed the inaugural flight of its first Airbus A321 aircraft.
The inaugural Hong Kong Airlines A321 flight – HX775 between Hong Kong and Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi – departed Hong Kong during the afternoon of May 24 before arriving at Suvarnabhumi hours later.
Along with the introduction of the aircraft, the A321 features “Extra Legroom” seats with a recline of 115 degrees.

With 220 seats in an all-Economy class configuration, the A321 is part of Hong Kong Airlines' fleet which consists of 21 aircraft which inclues the smaller A320s and widebody A330s. The airline plans to expand its fleet to 28 aircraft – including more A321s - by year's end.
According to planespotters.net, the A321 – with the registration B-LPR – has been in service for around 14 years. First delivered to Vietnam Airlines in 2010, the aircraft is on lease from AerCap.
The Hong Kong-based carrier stated the addition of the A321 aircraft will strengthen it network capacity of its medium and short-haul routes across Asia and allow it to introduce new routes and accomdate diverse market demands
