ITA Airways has announced it will launch new non-stop flights to Bangkok during the upcoming winter season.


The Rome, Italy-based carrier stated from November 16, it will start its new route connecting Rome Fiumicino Airport and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport with five weekly flights. The airline will use its Airbus A330neo aircraft on the new route.


From Fiumicino Airport, the Rome-Bangkok flight will depart every Monda, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 1515H and arrive at Bangkok at 0740H. The return flight will depart the following day at 1215H and arrive back at Fiumicino at 1900H.


"Our new Rome – Bangkok connection represents an important step forward in ITA Airways' development strategy as it adds another intercontinental destination and opens for our passengers the doors to Thailand, a strategic market in terms of leisure tourism and business segment," said Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways and CEO of Volare.


With ITA Airways announcement, travelers will now have a non-stop flight option between Rome and the Thai capital city.


"Thailand is one of the target markets in Southeast Asia for Rome, and being able to count on this new direct connection from ITA Airways is a great source of satisfaction for us," stated Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma - the operator of Fiumicino Airport. "The new route to Bangkok will be an excellent option both for business travelers and for the many tourists, representing a sure boost to the growth of traffic flows and collaboration opportunities between the two Countries."


Bangkok will add to ITA Airways network in Asia. The airline's destinations in the region includes New Delhi, Male', and Tokyo. New flights will be launched to Dubai on October 27.
