Korean Air will resume flights to Kumamoto, Japan after an absence of nearly three decades.
In response to increased travel demand, the Seoul, South Korea-based airline announced it will launch daily flights between Seoul-Incheon and Kumamoto starting November 27.
The route was last served by Korean Air 27 years ago before it was suspended during the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s.
Part of its expansion to smaller Japanese cities, Korean Air will also increase flights from Incheon to both Okayama and Kagoshima. The airline will also resume flights between Incheon and Nagasaki.
Korean Air will join budget carrier T'way Airlines, which also offers daily flights between Incheon and Kumamoto.
