Kuwait Airways is adding to its Airbus A330neo fleet with the delivery of its first A330-900.
The national airline of the State of Kuwait received its first of seven A330-900s – registration 9K-APJ and with the name “Boubyan” - from Airbus. The aircraft has since arrived in Kuwait from the European aircraft manufacturer's factory in Toulouse, France on Monday, December 9.
The new A330-900 will add to Kuwait Airways' A330neo fleet. According to planespotters.net, Kuwait Airways has four A330-800s – part of the 27 aircraft that makes up the airline's fleet.
Welcoming the new aircraft, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan said: “Kuwait Airways is pleased to receive its first Airbus A330-900NEO aircraft, the first of seven aircraft of the same type to be received successively over the coming years, according to the company’s aircraft delivery plan. The arrival of the Airbus A330-900NEO supports the national carrier of the State of Kuwait’s in fulfilling key goals within its wider plan to expand its network of routes around the world. The new aircraft is also an addition to the Blue Bird’s fleet, which will serve the company’s operational processes.”
Kuwait Airways' A330-900 features 278 seats in a three-class configuration – 32 Business, 21 Premium Economy, and 225 Economy.
