Amal – Malaysia Airlines' dedicated airline for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage flights – has announced it will be operate 55 flights towards the end of June through late July for nearly 16,000 Hajj pilgrims.
Announced by Amal, the carrier stated it will serve around 15,800 Hajj pilgrims with a focus on providing transport for the pilgrims from Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport and Madinah's Prince Mohammad Abdulaziz Madinah Internatinal Airport back to Kuala Lumpur starting on June 24 through July 20. The airline stated 50% of pilgrims fom Malaysia will be flown between Saudi Arabia and Kuala Lumpur in stages.
Between Jeddah and Madinah, Amal will operate up to 55 flights using Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 284 seats. The airline will also offer 71 feeder flights using Boeing 737-800 aircraft for onward connections from Kuala Lumpur to cities within Malaysia including Alor Star, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.
In a statement, Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Chief Operations Officer of Amal by Malaysia Airlines said: “Congratulations to all the pilgrims on the successful completion of their Hajj. We're humbled to continue fulfilling our role as the national carrier and airline partner to Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH) to fly these pilgrims to perform their Hajj and safe return, prioritising their safety and comfort throughout their journey.”
Launched in 2019, Amal – a wholly owned susbdiary of Malaysia Aviation Group – operates regularly scheduled and charter flights for those taking part in the Muslim tradition of the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage.
