Malaysia Airlines has announced the inaugural flight of its Airbus A330neo – the newest addition to its fleet – will take place on December 19 bound for Melbourne.
Announced on X, the Malaysian flag carrier will use its A330neo aircraft on the six-times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne – operating as MH149/MH148.
“This momentous milestone not only elevates our fleet to new heights but also symbolizes our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service and unforgettable travel experiences,” the airline said in its post on X.
Following the launch flight, Malaysia Airlines plans to use the aircraft on routes across Asia and the Pacific, and select routes to the Middle East.
Malaysia Airlines received the first of 20 leased A330neos (A330-900) from Avolon in late November. The aircraft is configured with 297 seats with two cabin classes – 28 fully-flat Business Class suites, and 269 all-new Economy seats.
