As a response to strong travel demand and positive load factor performance on its Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar route, the Kuala Lumpur-based carrier will increase the total weekly flights on the route from four to seven times weekly from August 1.
The move comes after a a previous increase in flights on the Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar route – first introduced in November 2023 – from two to four times weekly in January. Malaysia Airlines uses Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the route.
Located in northern India, Amritsar is the second largest city in the Indian state of Punjab.
With the additional flights to/from Amritsar, Malaysia Airlines will offer a total of 71 weekly flights to nine cities in India - New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar and Trivandrum. Via Kuala Lumpur, travelers from India can make onward connections to Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and other destinations on Malaysia Airlines' network.
