The Malaysian flag carrier announced the reinstatement of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kolkata starting December 2. Malaysia Airlines will operate five weekly flights between the two cities (every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
With the addition of Kolkata, Malaysia Airlines will offer a total of 76 weekly flights to ten cities in India including New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Amritsar, Trivandrum and Ahmedabad.

Malaysia Airlines joins Malaysia-based budget carrier AirAsia in offering flights to Kolkata from Kuala Lumpur.
