Oman Air will launch a new brand that will use Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with all-Economy Class seats.

Named Oman Air Connect, the national airline of Oman stated the new operation will offer more affordable travel options and complement the airline's existing network. Using a fleet of five Boeing 737 MAX 8s, the aircraft will be used on routes within the Middle East, to Africa and the Indian subcontinent.

According to Oman Air, the first of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to be used by Oman Air Connect was delivered last month.

Speaking on the launch of Oman Air Connect, Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis said: “The way people travel has evolved, with greater accessibility and choice; at the same time, passengers still want to enjoy a comfortable journey. With this all-economy fleet, we are adapting to these changing needs, providing our guests with more flexibility and choice without compromising on quality.”

The move is part of Oman Air's three-year financial transformation in 2023. Oman Air stated it has implemented several initiatives to strengthen its position in the market and to ensure long-term sustainability.

Within its fleet of over 40 aircraft, Oman Air has 25 narrowbody Boeing 737 aircraft – including 13 MAX 8s. Oman Air's MAX 8s feature 162 seats in a two-class configuration – 12 Business and 150 Economy.
