A rise of the Passenger Service Charge (PSC) at six airports in Thailand under the supervision of operator Airports of Thailand (AOT)  – including Bangkok's main airports Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang  – has taken into effect.

The adjusted PSC has been implemented from April 1 for domestic and international passengers departing from six airports – Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hat Yai. PSC for domestic passengers rose from THB 100 to 130 (~USD $2.70/$3.50), and THB 700 to 730 (~USD $19/$19.82) for international passengers.

The PSC is collected in accordance with Thai law to enhance service efficiency at its airports, and is usually included on passengers' tickets.

First announced by airport operator Airports of Thailand (AOT) back in November 2023, the PSC hike would help cover the cost of the operator's Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS), which powers automated check-in and self service kiosks.

Using CUPPS, passengers would be able to check-in 6-12 hours ahead of their departure (depending on the conditions of the airline) and use automated bag drop machines.
