Japanese budget airline Peach Aviation (Peach) is expanding its services to Seoul with new routes from Osaka Kansai (Kansai) and Nagoya to Seoul Gimpo Airport.

The two new services to Gimpo Airport – located 15 kilometers west of the center of Seoul – will start on April 10. Starting with daily flights each, Peach will expand the frequency of flights on the new Nagoya-Gimpo and Osaka Kansai-Gimpo routes to twice daily from August 26.

Formerly the main airport of Seoul before the opening of Incheon Airport in 2001, Gimpo currently serves domestic flights within South Korea. The airport also serves international flights to select destinations in Japan, China, and Taiwan.

The new Nagoya-Gimpo route will be Peach's second international route from Nagoya. Peach will be the lone Japanese-based airline operating flights between Nagoya and Seoul, and the first at Gimpo. Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, and Jin Air operate flights between Nagoya and Incheon Airport.

Peach Aviation will add to its services between Osaka and Seoul, where it currently operates flights from Tokyo Haneda and Kansai to Incheon. Peach will be the lone airline offering flights to Gimpo.

Between Incheon and Kansai Airport, the route is served by nine airlines including Peach. The other airlines operating flights on the route include Air Busan, Air Seoul, Asiana Airlines, Easter Jet, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Korean Air, and T'way Air.
