Philippine Airlines is expanding its services to Brisbane and Sydney, increasing flights to the two Australian cities to daily before year's end.

The Manila-based carrier announced it will introduce a seventh weekly flight between Manila and Brisbane from October 27.  Services to Sydney will also go daily from November 1 (the following day - November 2 for the return flight).

With the daily flights to Brisbane and Sydney, Philippine Airlines will offer a combined 22 weekly flights to four Australian cities – including five weekly to Melbourne, and three weekly to Perth. The airline currently uses Airbus A321neo aircraft on its Brisbane and Perth routes, while widebody Airbus A330 aircraft – currently operated by Wamos Air - are used on the flights to Sydney and Melbourne.

Updates on Flights to Sydney and Melbourne

Philippine Airlines reported as part of an update to its lease agreement covering its flights to Melbourne and Sydney with Wamos Air, the airline will have more of its own flight attendants onboard the flights.

Currently, Philippine Airlines' partnership with Wamos Air sees the temporary use of two leased Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its flights from Manila to both Sydney and Melbourne until January 2025.

“We are happy to note that 1300 flights using the leased aircraft will now feature our very own Philippine Airlines cabin crew, the airline’s pride and joy, ensuring the best of safety and service on board these flights within the Asia-Pacific region,” said Capt. Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer, Philippine Airlines.
