Philippine Airlines is boosting its services to Vietnam with the addition of a new route from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh City.
From May 2, the Manila-based airline will launch the new Cebu-Ho Chi Minh City route with three weekly flights (Sunday, Wednesday, Friday/return every Monday, Thursday, Saturday). Airbus A321 aircraft with 199 seats will be used on the new route.
According to Philippine Airlines, the early morning arrivals at Cebu will allow passengers to connect onto its domestic network and its non-stop flights to Osaka and Tokyo Narita.
“We are pleased to expand Philippine Airlines’ footprint in Vietnam, our next-door neighbor and fellow ASEAN member country, through our new service linking Ho Chi Minh City to Cebu for the very firsttime,” said Captain Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer, Philippine Airlines. “We look forward to boosting tourism, strengthening Cebu’s position as the nation’s emerging business and leisure gateway, and building on the strong and friendly relations between Vietnam and the Philippines. We are excited to invite Vietnamese tourists and business people to take the short hop to Cebu to discover the wonders of our islands and enjoy the warm hospitality of our people.”
In addition to the new route from Cebu, Philippine Airlines will increase its flights between Manila and Hanoi to daily – currently operating five-times weekly – from April 1. The airline currently operates eight weekly flights between Manila and Ho Chi Minh City.
Combined, Philippine Airlines will offer a total of 18 weekly flights between the Philippines and Vietnam during the summer.
