The Qantas Group (Qantas) has applied to launch more flights to the Philippines using its budget subsidiary Jetstar, which will include the airline group's first route to the central Philippine city of Cebu.

In an application filed by Qantas to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC) on March 20, Qantas has announced plan to launch two new routes to the Philippines – Perth-Manila and Brisbane-Cebu – from November 27. Using Airbus A321neo aircraft with 232 seats, both routes will see three weekly flights each.
The IASC has listed the ongoing case on March 24, and invited other applications for the capacity with a closing date of April 7.
The Australian airline listed its proposed services for the two routes:
Perth (PER)-Manila (MNL):
JQ81 PER-MNL (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) 2130H 0435H (+1)
JQ82 MNL-PER (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) 0600H 1300H
Brisbane (BNE)-Cebu (CEB):
JQ101 BNE-CEB (Sunday, Wednesday, Friday) 1230H 1715H
JQ100 CEB-BNE (same day) 1915H 0400H (+1)
Qantas is seeking the allocation of 686 seats per week and unrestricted capacity on the Philippines route for a period of five years (from the date of determination), and a period of 99 years from the date of the determination for unrestricted capacity. The airline states the capacity will be fully utilized by February 8, 2026.
The Australian airline further stated the capacity may be utilized by Qantas, Jetstar, or another Australian carrier which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas and maybe used to provide joint services with and by any wholly-owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group to provide joint services with Qantas.
Between Australia and the Philippines, Qantas operates a combined 11 weekly flights to/from Manila – seven weekly (daily) to Sydney and four weekly to Brisbane.
