Royal Air Maroc will resume its flights to Beijing next year.
From January 20, 2025, the Moroccan national carrier and oneworld member airline will operate three weekly flights between Casablanca and Beijing Daxing Airport. Royal Air Maroc will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with 302 seats – including 26 in Business Class - on the route.
The outbound flights will depart every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The return flights will depart from Beijing the next day (Sunday, Tuesday, Friday).
Royal Air Maroc previously introduced the route in January 2020, before its suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic a few weeks later.
According to Royal Air Maroc, the Casablanca-Beijing service – the first route between Morocco and China – is aimed to help develop the tourism industry of Morocco.
“The Casablanca-Beijing route is primarily dedicated to the development of Moroccan tourism, as 80% of the traffic on this route is expected to consist of foreign tourists,” said Hamid Addou, CEO, Royal Air Maroc.
Addou further described the route as “long-awaited,” which will also strengthen economic and commercial ties between Morocco and China.
