Scoot has announced the first six destinations it will deploy its new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, including the launch of new routes to Koh Samui and Sibu.
Ahead of the delivery of its first E190-E2, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the six destinations to where the new jets will serve – Koh Samui starting May 13 and Sibu from June 5 - along with existing destinations Hat Yai, Kuantan, Krabi, and Miri.
The first E2 – nicknamed Explorer 3.0 – is expected to arrive in Singapore in April 2024. Following its delivery, Explorer 3.0 will take over Scoot's existing flights to Krabi and Hat Yai from May 7. The second E2 will be used on flights to Koh Samui, Kuantan, Miri, and Sibu during May and June.
Scoot's plan for the deployment of the new E190-E2s and flight frequencies are as follows:
Krabi – 7 to 10 weekly from May 7
Hat Yai – 7 to 10 weekly from May 7
Koh Samui – (New route) Daily from May 13, then twice daily from early June
Kuantan – From May 13. 3 to 4 weekly from May 20
Miri – From May 13. 3 to 4 weekly from June 3
Sibu – (New route) 3 weekly from June 5

With the addition of Koh Samui and Sibu, Scoot's network will increase to 69 destinations. The airline will operate 103 weekly flights to Malaysia and 92 to Thailand by June 2024.
