Scoot to launch new flights to Phu Quoc, Padang, and Shantou

Singapore Airlines' budget subsidiary Scoot has announced the addition of three new destinations to its network – Phu Quoc, Vietnam; Padang, Indonesia; and Shantou, China.


From December 20, Scoot will launch the first of the three routes – between Singapore and Phu Quoc – with three weekly flights. Scoot will be then increase flights on the route to five weekly flights on January 25, 2025.


The second route – between Singapore and Padang – will be launched on January 6, 2025 – with four weekly flights.


Scoot will use Embraer E190-E2 aircraft on the flights to both Phu Quoc and Padang.


On January 16, 2025, Scoot will launch thrice-weekly flights to Shantou using Airbus A320 family aircraft.


“We are happy to announce the introduction of flight services to Padang, Phu Quoc, and Shanthou, and hope to inspire more travellers discover the diverse experiences our new destinations have to offer,” said Lesli Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Scoot. “We will continue to seek opportunities, expand our network and connect our customers to new travel experiences.”


Combined, Scoot will offer 31 weekly flights to three cities in Vietnam, 84 weekly flights to 11 cities in Indonesia, and 89 weekly flights to 17 points in China by January 2025.


Year-end Service Updates 


In addition to the new routes, Scoot will increase the total number of flights to Jakarta to 19 times weekly from November 24 (+2 weekly). Services to Koh Samui will be increased from 14 to 21 weekly from December 20, and five-times weekly to daily to Davao from December 22. Flights to Vientiane will increase from four to five times weekly on February 9.


Scoot reported one route that it will suspend its flights to Nanchang on February 14, 2025.
