Scoot to launch new route to Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur

Singapore Airlines' budget subsidiary Scoot will be the second non-Malaysian airline to launch new jet aircraft services to Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur.


From September 1, Scoot will operate daily flights between Singapore's Changi Airport and Subang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport using Airbus A320 aircraft.


Scoot will join Indonesian carrier TransNusa to launch jet aircraft flights to Subang Airport.TransNusa previously announced it will launch flights from Jakarta to Subang Airport from August 1. Scoot will be the only airline to offer flights from Changi Airport to Subang. 


Between Subang and Singapore, Malaysia Airlines' subsidiary Firefly current operates flights from the airport to Singapore's Seletar Airport. 


The new service to Subang Airport will add to Scoot's current flights to KLIA. 


Subang Airport previously served as the main international air hub for Kuala Lumpur before the opening of Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang in 1998. Currently serving turboprop aircraft operations, airport operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad stated Subang Airport will be opened for jet aircraft operations in August.
