Singapore Airlines to increase flights to key cities, bring A380 back to Tokyo

As part of its 2025 Northern Summer operating season (March 30, 2025 to October 25, 2025), Singapore Airlines will operate more flights throughout its network and bring its Airbus A380s to Tokyo next spring. The airline will also suspend its fifth-freedom flights between Houston and Manchester.



As part of its 2025 Northern Summer operating season (March 30, 2025 to October 25, 2025), Singapore Airlines will operate more flights throughout its network and bring its Airbus A380s to Tokyo next spring. The airline will also suspend its fifth-freedom flights between Houston and Manchester.


The Singapore flag carrier announced from March 30, 2025, Singapore Airlines will increase its flights to London Gatwick from the current five-times weekly to daily flights. Combined with its four daily flights to London Heathrow, the airline will operate a total of five daily flights to the capital of the United Kingdom.


Between June 26, 2025 and August 28, 2025, Singapore Airlines will increase its flights to Rome Fiumicino from four to five weekly flights.


Singapore Airlines will also de-link its thrice-weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route from June 24, 2025 to September 7, 2025. The airline will operate more direct flights between the two cities – five-times weekly to Barcelona (from two weekly)and daily to Milan (up from four-weekly). 


To Adelaide, Australia, Singapore Airlines will increase its flights across the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons from the current seven weekly to 10 weekly.


Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will increase from 19-times weekly to 21-weekly (thrice-daily), and double to Siem Reap (daily to twice-daily).


Between December 11 to January 10, 2025 and April 2, 2025 to October 24, 2025, Singapore Airlines will mount a  thrice-weekly service to Johannesburg. The added flights will bring the total number of flights to the city from daily to 10 times weekly during those periods.


A380 Adjustments – Tokyo and Mumbai


Singapore Airlines announced it will bring back its Airbus A380 o Tokyo next spring. 


Between March 30, 2025 and May 31, 2025, the airline will operate the superjumbo on one of its two daily flights to Tokyo Narita, replacing the Boeing 787-10 currently used on the route.


Meanwhile, the airline will replace the A380 with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on its flights to Delhi and Mumbai. The changes will take place from July 28, 2025 to August 31, 2025 to Mumbai, and June 23, 2025 to July 27, 2025 to Delhi. 


Suspension of Houston-Manchester Flights


In line with its capacity adjustments, Singapore Airlines will suspend its fifth freedom route between Houston and Manchester on April 1. 


The airline will continue to operate its five-weekly flights from Singapore to Manchester (SQ302/SQ301). 


In a statement addressing the changes, Singapore Airlines' Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning Dai Haoyu said: “These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans. We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with SIA’s extensive network, and delivering an unparalleled travel experience.”
