Singapore Airlines to launch new route to Beijing Daxing Airport

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced it will launch the first direct service by a non-Chinese airline between Singapore and Beijing Daxing International Airport.


In a release, the Singapore flag carrier stated the new daily flights between Singapore and Daxing Airport will start on November 11. The airline will use Boeing 787-10 aircraft with 337 seats – 36 Business and 301 Economy.


From Singapore, the outbound flight – SQ810 – will depart at 0030H at arrive at Daxing at around 0635H. The return flight – SQ811 – will depart at 0925H and arrive back at Singapore at 1550H.


“China is a key market for the Singapore Airlines Group,” said Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines. “This new flight to Beijing Daxing allows SIA to offer an additional daily service to Beijing, a popular destination for both tourist and business travellers. With 24 destinations in the Group’s mainland China network, we offer some of the best options and connections for travel between Singapore and China, and beyond.”


Kong Yue, Vice President, Beijing Daxing International Airport, added: “Singapore Airlines is the first foreign airline to operate services from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Singapore. We believe the inception of Singapore Airlines at Beijing Daxing International Airport will bring about a renewed sense of energy and opportunities, fulfilling the travel demand between both countries as we jointly work together for more good things to come.”


SIA joins China Eastern which currently operates flights between Singapore and Daxing Airport.


Increased Flights to Beijing-Capital


Along with the announcement of the new service to Daxing Airport, SIA also announced it will increase its frequencies to Beijing Capital Airport. From August 5, the airline's weekly flights to Beijing Capital will increase from 18 to 21. The airline will offer a total of 28 weekly flights to both of Beijing's air hubs from November. 


With the addition of Beijing Daxing Airport, SIA will offer flights to 8 destinations in mainland China. Along with the two Beijing hubs, the Singapore flag carrier offers flights to Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Xiamen. Separately, Singapore Airlines' budget subsidiary Scoot operates flights to 17 destinations - Changsha, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Kunming, Nanchang, Nanjing, Nanning, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin, Wuhan, Xi’an, and Zhengzhou.
