SpiceJet is boosting its services to Thailand with a new route to Phuket, while upgrading its flights between Delhi and Bangkok with widebody Airbus A340 aircraft during the summer.

From May 31, SpiceJet will operate daily flights between Delhi and Phuket – Thailand's largest island known as the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea” - offering a new connection to the popular resort destination.

“We are incredibly excited to launch our first-ever service to Phuket, a world-renowned destination,” said Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet. “We are confident that our new daily non-stop flights will be a popular choice for both leisure and business travellers and will make their journey to Phuket seamless, allowing them to maximise their time enjoying the island’s beauty. This new route strengthens our commitment to expanding our international network and offering our passengers a wider range of exciting destinations.”

The new service will be an addition to SpiceJet's current flights to Bangkok from Kolkata and Delhi. Air India and IndiGo also serves the route with daily flights.

Delhi-Bangkok Flight Upgrade with Airbus A340 Aircraft

SpiceJet will replace the current narrowbody Boeing 737 aicraft used on the flights between Delhi and Bangkok to the widebody Airbus A340 between May 31 through June 30.

The use of the A340s will increase the seat capacity offered by SpiceJet on the Delhi-Bangkok route to 324 each flight to cater to the high demand during the holiday season.

While operating a fleet of majority narrowbody Boeing 737 and turboprop De Havilland Dash-8s, SpiceJet leased two Airbus A340s for its Hajj pilgrimage operations earlier this year.
