Thai AirAsia X has announced it will suspend its flights between Bangkok and Sydney next month.

In an advisory (written in Thai) posted by AirAsia on January 14, Thai AirAsia X announced it will suspend its direct flights between Bangkok-Don Mueang Airport and Sydney from February 18.

According to the Thai-based long-haul AirAsia airline, the suspension is “in accordance with the fleet management plan.” Thai AirAsia X has advised customers on options including rebooking, refunds, and travel credits.

Currently operating six weekly flights between Don Mueang and Sydney, this will be the second suspension of services between Bangkok and Sydney by Thai AirAsia X within a year. The airline previously suspended the flights – which operated from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport - in August citing fleet management and operation hub movement. Following the shift of Thai AirAsia X's hub from Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang in October, the airline relaunched services to Sydney from Don Mueang on December 1.

THAI Airways and Qantas' services from Suvarnabhumi will be the direct flight options between Bangkok and Sydney.
