Thai AirAsia is adding to its network between Thailand and Vietnam with a new route between Bangkok and Phu Quoc.

The Thai-based AirAsia subsidiary announced the new route – from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Phu Quoc – will be launched with daily flights from October 27.

Located in southern Vietnam, Phu Quoc has become an emerging tourist destination with natural attractions.

Vietnam is one of the countries where AirAsia aims to further expand our network to cater to the growing demand for air travel brought about by the many cities that the country has successfully developed as tourism centers,” said Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia.

According to Santisuk, the airline's routes between Thailand and Vietnam have proven to be popular among travelers.

All our Vietnam routes have proven to be popular so we will continue expanding our network and increasing flight frequencies to meet the growing demand,” Santisuk added.

Thai AirAsia will be the lone carrier offering direct flights from Bangkok to Phu Quoc, adding to its 77 weekly flights to six routes between Thailand and Vietnam. From Bangkok Don Mueang Airport the airline offers x14 weekly flights to Hanoi, x21 to Ho Chi Minh City, x21 weekly to Da Nang, x7 to Nha Trang, and x7 to Phu Quoc. The airline also operates 7 weekly flights between Chiang Mai and Hanoi.
