Thai AirAsia has announced a new connection to northern Thailand with a new route from Bangkok to Lampang.
From October 1, the Thailand-based AirAsia group carrier will launch its new route from Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport to Lampang which will be operated daily.
The new route to the capital city will be the 25thdomestic destination for Thai AirAsia, which offers 612 weekly flights on 34 domestic routes covering all regions of Thailand. According to Thai AirAsia's CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya, the airline has seen a rise in demand on its domestic routes with a load factor of 90% during the first half of the year.
“I am confident this new route will be as popular as other destinations, due to its charm and many attractions. With the Lampang Airport expansion now completed, we look forward to being of service to guests from both cities from 1 October,” Santisuk said.
Thai AirAsia will be the second airline to offer flights to Lampang. Bangkok Airways currently serves the airport with flights to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
