From June 17, Vietnam Airlines will operate a total of seven weekly flights – three from Hanoi and four from Ho Chi Minh City – to the Philippine capital. The Ho Chi Minh City-Manila route will be the first of the two routes to be launched on the 17th, followed by the Hanoi-Manila route the following day. Then, the flights from Hanoi will be operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Ho Chi Minh City.

The flights are available to be booked on Vietnam Airlines' website. Airbus A321 aircraft is listed to be used for both flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The new flights will mark the first time a Vietnam-based carrier will operate flights to the Philippines. According to Vietnam Airlines, the new routes mark a milestone in its international flight network development strategy as they connect Manila, Hanoi and HCM City – three leading economic hubs of Southeast Asia.

Previously, the Vietnam-based carrier planned to launch flights to Manila in December before it was moved to March. The Skyteam member carrier last operated flights to the Philippines in 2001 with a route between Ho Chi Minh City and Manila.
