Vietnam Airlines announced it will launch a new direct flight to Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh.
Announced during a recent state visit of Vietnam's President To Lam to Cambodia, the Vietnamese national carrier will operate four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) between Hanoi and Phnom Penh starting October 27. The airline will use Airbus A321 aircraft on the route.
The new route aims to serve the growing inbound passenger traffic to Cambodia from Vietnam, a market that Vietnam Airlines has served for more than three decades. Including the new Hanoi-Phnom Penh route, Vietnam Airlines will operate 86 weekly flights on five routes between Vietnam and Cambodia including four direct routes – two routes to Phnom Penh from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and another two to Siem Reap from the two cities. The airline also operates one Indochina route.
In addition to the new route announcement, Vientam Airilnes also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambodia Angkor Air, the Cambodia Tourism Association, and SaigonTourist Group part of the “Two Nations – One Destination” program to bopost tourism between Vietnam and Cambodia.
