WestJet will update its flights between Calgary and Tokyo to a daily, year-round service. The Calgary, Canada-based airline will also expand its codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines (JAL) to offer onward connections to Osaka and Nagoya.

After increasing its Calgary-Tokyo (Narita) flights to daily during the summer 2025, WestJet is extending the daily service through the winter 2025 starting October 27. According to WestJet, the increase comes as it experiences “continued success of the route on both sides of the Pacific.”
“Leveraging our Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, WestJet continues to strengthen Calgary’s tourism pipeline with expanded Trans-Pacific service, creating new inroads for economic growth across Western Canada and beyond,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “Today’s announcement of our expansion to daily year-round service between Calgary and Tokyo further reaffirms our commitment to bolstering Canadians’ access to Asia.”
Along with the update of its Calgary-Tokyo flights, WestJet also announced it has expanded its codeshare partnership with JAL to offer connections via Narita to Osaka (Itami) and Nagoya.
“These additional options to connect, made possible by our codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines, expands WestJet’s global codeshare network and will open doors for guests looking for convenient and affordable ways to explore popular destinations across Japan,” continued Weatherill.
From Calgary, Tokyo is WestJet's second destination in Asia. The airline also offers seasonal services to Seoul Incheon.
